A raindrop dripping from a cloud was ashamed when it saw the sea.

یکی قطره باران ز ابری چکید ======= خجل شد جو پهنای دریا بد ید
بخود گفت ایا که من کیستم====== گر او هست حقا که من نیستم
چو خودرا بچشم حقارت بدید ===== صدف در کنارش بجان پرورید.


What may appear to you a group of bushes
Could well be a place wherein a leopard lurks.

هر بیشه گمان مبر که خالی است ===== شاید که پلنگ خفته باشد

Fettered feet in the presence of friends is better than
Living in the garden with strangers..

پای در زنجیر پیش دوستان ===== به که با بیگانگان در بوستان

Make no friendship with an elephant keeper if
You have no room to entertain an elephant..

یا مکن با پیل بانان دوستی ===== یا بنا کن خانه ئی در خورد فیلئ


On the day of battle it is slender horse . not the lumbering ox
That will be of use

اسب لاغرمیان بکار اید ===== روز میدان نه گاو پرواری



Through out the long night a man wept at the beside of a sick man
When day dawned the visitor was dead and the patient was alive.

مردی همه شب بر سر بیمار گریست ===== چون صبح بشد بمرد و بیمار بزیست
